The game as a vehicle — not a destination.

Giving back is built into the work. Basketball is a vehicle for discipline, connection, and opportunity.

Petty Athletics uses every clinic, team session, and mentorship opportunity to leave athletes with more than an improved handle. The work is about confidence, discipline, structure, accountability, and community.

On transformation

A Godsend for my daughter's development and confidence.

We worked season after season to correct her shooting form, but no trainer or coach took the time to fix the mechanics and explain the “why” behind it. Within just one session, Coach Petty corrected her shot and her confidence increased immediately. He also takes time to personally encourage each athlete and strengthen their mental approach to the game.

My daughter looks forward to training with Petty Athletics every week, and we're so grateful for the impact it has had on her growth.

From an athlete

You can tell there's real attention to helping you get better every session.

Training with Petty Athletics has been a great experience. My game has improved a lot, especially my ball handling and confidence on the court. The workouts are intense but focused.

I definitely feel more prepared and disciplined when I play now.

On growth

Basketball has been a transformative experience that has shaped not only my son's athletic ability but overall personal growth.

Through consistent practice and competition, skills such as ball handling, shooting, footwork, and game awareness have developed significantly. Each session on the court builds a stronger understanding of teamwork, strategy, and execution.

We are beyond blessed to be apart of Petty Athletics.

On being seen

He felt included, and didn't have to feel bad about being slightly different.

My son loves the experience and training he gets. I as a parent see the progress and confidence that is building in my athlete. What I love the most is my son has underlying health conditions that I inform Coach Petty about in the beginning — and with communication he worked it out for my son.

My son is getting the job done now thanks to training from Coach Petty.

On the work

Coach Rashad has a natural ability to get the most out of anyone at any age. It's amazing.

His work ethic and attention to detail is unmatched. His knowledge has taken my 9-year-old son in a year to places I didn't think he would reach that fast.

I would refer Coach Rashad to anyone that is looking, because I know they would be in great hands.
